RR Donnelley UK & Ireland (a division of RR Donnelley America) is a marketing company that connects its clients with their customers across all channels. These include; data-driven customer engagement, multichannel marketing, transactional communications and automated inbound communication workflows.
Transitioning RR Donnelley UK & Ireland through their data journey, by leading the design and build of a system of business intelligence to support MI client reporting and data analytics for process improvements and cross selling of services. Setting the foundations for the company to excel in all aspects of becoming a data driven organisation.
Supporting Lloyds Banking Group to archive greater profitability while reducing risk on their £250 billion mortgage portfolio through the introduction of a strategic data management strategy, to integrate data from across the companies five key mortgage brands. This allowed the finance accountants to apply stress test models against interest rate buckets to forecast behaviour metrics, for example in the identification of customers who are likely to falter on their payments if interest rates were to rise.
Working with the customer services teams and finance department to improve reporting capabilities for regulatory requests and account retention initiatives through targeting key customer demographics identified from analytics activities.
Working on several very worthwhile community volunteer projects in some of Africa’s poorest countries. In Botswana our international team supported park rangers who are raising awareness of the plight of the white rhino. In Uganda we assisted in the construction of a new school building by digging the foundations, with the support of local community. In Kenya I worked closely with community leaders for the allocation of funds to purchase milking cows to support families who had been made homeless due to land acquisition schemes. Money from the sale of the milk would go towards shelter and food, ensuring a sustained future.
During my year in Africa, I also took the opportunity to independently travel some 12,500 miles overland, from Cape Town, South Africa to Cairo, Egypt.
With the acquisition of Portman in 2007, I continued to engage in work within the Information Systems department at Bournemouth, with my key responsibilities moving across to the intermediaries lending division.
Two years with one of the UK's largest building society's, working within their busy Information Systems department, developing the key mortgage banking software, used by over 90 members of staff, and 300+ brokers.
Systems and database support of Investment and mortgage systems, used by 140 users at this small mutual Building Society.
Working for a busy Builders Merchant within their Information Systems department, supporting the UNIX System Network.
